Welcome to our dream
Welcome to Dorothy Jean Designs. Never has there been a day in my life when I haven’t been proud to be Dorothy Jean’s only daughter. From her I learned to laugh, to love, to create, and to dream.
When she passed away in 1999, I knew I wanted to spend my life making her proud of me. This business is the way I am doing it. I learned to make beautiful things from Dorothy Jean, and I want you to benefit for the talent she infused in my genes.
Please shop around, and know if you have a special order, I will try my best to make that happen.
And if you are local to NE Indiana, I have been doing alterations for casual and formal wear for the past decade; I’d love to make your wardrobe fit you like you WANT :)

Sox is the best buddy I never knew I needed. He stuck his gorgeous head out of a car window in May of 2015 while I was collecting his peoples’ toll. Being the dog momma I have always been, I remarked on just how beautiful he is. And they asked me if I wanted him! Of course, I said no, I had a 9 year old boxer at home that quite liked being an only dog. But I did know a couple of people who may have been interested, so I took their info and went along with my day. Later they sent me photos and explained that he needed to find a new home, they loved him so much but their landlord, not so much.
The very next day, he came to live with me (!!) and he decided right then and there I would be his person. In May of 2015 he was a strapping 90 lb., 9 month old fella. Now, he’s 5 and filled out to 127 lbs. He's been an only dog for over a year now, and my sweet girl, that boxer, loved him so very much. He misses her every day, but I think he now understands why SHE liked being an only dog.
He loves cuddles, car rides, his babies (the grandkids), and spending time with his best friends; Max, Millie, and Phoenix. Oh and he is my begrudging model, he'd much rather YOU sent in photos of your best buddy so he doesn't have to keep looking at momma's camera.
